NATO parliamentary assembly
BEST PRACTICES

  • The NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Bratislava, 2004

  • 28-05-2004

  • Bratislava, Slovak Republic

CLIENT CHALLENGE

One month prior to the event the local security service received information on possible activities of various activist groups not only from Slovakia but also Austria and several demonstrations against NATO were officially announced. Two demonstrations took place during the session dates however, due to procedures which were taken by the local authorities, these took place outside the protected zone and did not affect the event itself.

OUR SOLUTION

AIM Group International provided all services for NATO PA Spring session in Bratislava. We were in close cooperation with the Slovak National Assembly as well as the police, local security organisations and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. The possible demonstrations or other activities of activist groups were considered well in advance and the relevant procedures put in place by the local authorities. AIM Group International draws on the experience from the NATO PA Spring session which we organised in Prague in 2003. All the security matters we faced in Prague were communicated to the National Assembly during the preparations, in order to prepare an action plan and provide the necessary arrangements. We were also communicating on a regular basis with the NATO PA authorities and several security meetings took place in advance.
