HOW TO GET TO FLORENCE

By plane
Florence can be reached through its own, Amerigo Vespucci, or Pisa’s Galileo Galilei International Airports.  Both offer frequent daily flights to and from all major European cities and connections to intercontinental destination through the hubs of Milan and Rome.  Florence’s Amerigo Vespucci airport is located just outside the town centre, which can be reached in approximately 20 minutes by taxi or take the bus n. 57, get off at the bus stop Guido Monaco, then take the bus n. 12 and get off at Stazione Leopolda.
Pisa’s Galileo Galilei airport offers a train service which runs from the station located outside the departures area of the air terminal (‘Pisa Aeroporto’) to Florence’s main railway station (‘Firenze Santa Maria Novella’ or ‘Firenze S.M.N.’) .

By train
From the Santa Maria Novella train station to Starhotels Michelangelo, take Bus 1° or 1B from the Deanna bar located in front of the station. Get off at the “Stazione Leopolda” stop.  Otherwise take the new Tramway service and get off at the first stop "Porta al Prato", located 50 metres from the hotel.

By car
From the A1 Milano/Roma highway, towards Milan, take Firenze Scandicci exit; towards Rome, take Firenze Certosa exit and the A11 Firenze/Pisa highway (6 km), exit Firenze Nord, go towards Porta al Prato, continue in Piazzale Porta al Prato in north east direction going to Viale Fratelli Rosselli.
