Dear colleagues,
The traditional December meeting of the French Society of Hypertension (it will be this year its 27th edition) is evolving to become The International Meeting of the French Society of Hypertension. This change is not merely formal. It is expressed by a significant increase of international invited speakers (not necessarily French-speaking) and promotion to attract and welcome international delegates.
The French Society of Hypertension also wishes to strengthen the relationship with other Scientific Societies. Indeed, sessions will be organized with the Society of Atherosclerosis, with the Heart Failure group of the French Society of Cardiology, with the Society of Nephrology and the Society of Headaches and Migraine and the National College of French Cardiologists.
The program is structured in a number of “tracks” to suit the interest of delegates with different background. There will be distinct “hypertension research” and “practical hypertension” tracks. Specific sessions are organised with the aim to foster cross-talk between basic science and clinical practice. Finally, we will have a session called “Scientific tools for Dummies” (derived from the name of famous didactic books in France), where scientists will explain in very didactic terms some concepts often difficult to catch for clinicians.
The Programme Committee has achieved an exciting scientific programme with an international faculty, and a mix of basic research and clinical practice that, hopefully, will please to and attract an international audience with various interests into hypertension.
We hope that you will enjoy the location of the meeting in Paris as well as its traditional friendly and convivial atmosphere.
Welcome to the International Meeting of the French Society of Hypertension.
