Compania de Danza Carmen Mota
Carmen Mota stands for year of knowledge in highbrow dance related entertainement from Spain.
Her name has become another expression for passionate, “flamboyant extravaganza”. At the age of 17, Carmen Mota was already performing as a leading soloist in several groups of Flamenco. The popularity of Carmen Mota grew following the start of her company, Compania de Danza Carmen Mota, which was established in 1977. She trained over 100 dedicated dancers and created shows for a variety of world-class theatres in Europe, USA, Canada and China. Mota is currently running 3 dance-companies in Tenerife, Palma de Mallorca and Malaga. During the show presented on June 13 you will see some of the most talented and finest dancers in Spain. Flamenco is a dance-style that easily combines with modern music and other forms of dance.
Carmen Mota, in her shows, has decided to break with tradition and create a show that breaths passion and fire in all aspects. She took the liberty to lend techniques that are used in shows on Broadway and Las Vegas, respecting at the same time the “key values” that make the dance of Spanish dancers so amazing. The mix of Spanish and international cultures makes up for a show that is pure energy. We sincerely hope you will enjoy watching the show as much as Carmen Mota took joy in making it.
