BJORN FOLKOW AWARD AND LECTURE
The Bjorn Folkow Award has been established in 1987 by the ESH with the generous collaboration of ASTRAZENECA in recognition of the contribution made by Bjorn Folkow to cardiovascular physiology and pathophysiology.
The award will be given to a person or persons who have carried out important original research that has contributed to understanding the pathogenesis of hypertension.

ALBERTO ZANCHETTI LIFE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
The Award was established by ESH in 1995 to a scientist with a lifelong high quality scientific research in the field of hypertension.

SPANISH SOCIETY AWARD
The Spanish Society of Hypertension decided to create an Award to be presented to a scientist with a lifelong high quality scientific research in the field of cardiovascular risk.

PAUL MILLIEZ AWARD
The Madrid venue of the ESH meeting will offer a special opportunity to attribute the Award to a French scientist acknowledged for his accomplishments in the field of hypertension.

Jiří Widimský Sr. Award
To be presented to three distinguished young European investigators (not older than 40 years) who have conducted promising research in the field of clinical or experimental hypertension and presented it at the XVIth European Meeting on Hypertension in Madrid. The award will be provided by the Czech Foundation for Hypertension Research based on abstract evaluation.

HONORARY MEMBERSHIP
Honorary Membership will be given to a scientist who has made extraordinary contributions to research in hypertension or who has given exceptionally important support to the activities of ESH.

EUROPEAN INVESTIGATORS’ TRAVEL GRANTS
The European Society of Hypertension will provide a limited number of Travel Grants for Young European Investigators, with limited financial resources, whose abstracts have been selected for either oral or poster presentation. Priority will be given to those Young Investigators, 35 years of age or under, with first authorship of an accepted abstract. Each Travel Grant fee will amount to € 570,00.
Those receiving Travel Grants will not be exempted from paying the registration fee.

EUROPEAN INVESTIGATORS’ ACCOMMODATION GRANTS
The European Society of Hypertension will also provide a limited number of Accommodation Grants to those participants with limited financial resources, whose abstracts have been selected for either oral or poster presentation.
Priority will be given to those participants, 35 years of age or under, with first authorship of an accepted abstract.

The Accommodation Grant will cover the following expenses:
- Registration fee
- Hotel Accommodation in a three-star Hotel in Madrid in a single room, for a maximum of 4 nights stay.
The Accommodation Grant will not cover travel expenses.

The same participant cannot have both travel and accommodation grants.
One grant excludes the other.
