Welcome to this fourth and last course of the 8th ECNR cycle which will deal with trauma, infection, inflammation and degenerative diseases. We have prepared a diversified and interesting programme of high scientific level, each topic being brought to you by the authorities in European Neuroradiology. The workshops in the afternoons further deepen the topics of the morning sessions using selected cases.

As usual, technical lectures will be offered in the noon session covering new techniques ofCT and MR this time. As a special feature, there will be an introduction on e-learning.

Let me repeat that the exam you sit at the end of the course can be taken both for self-assessment and as part of the European Board Examination (this necessitates additional qualifications, which are known to you).

It is a pleasure for me to see that the course is gaining more and more reputation which is reflected by the increasing number of participants. Some of you will continue their courses with the 9th cycle, and I am happy to say that it again will be hosted by Basel.
