How to get around Milan
Milan boasts the country’s most efficient and best planned public transport network, featuring subway, trolley-buses, tram and buses. To use the public transport only one ticket is needed, which is valid for 75 minutes. Special tickets give unlimited use of all public transport for one whole day.

Public Transport
The cost of the over-ground and underground transport is the same. Tickets can be bought from news-stands, bars, tobacconists and from automatic vending machines, but not in buses. Public transport runs from approximately 6.00 hours until 24.00 hours, and there is a bus service that replaces Line 1 of the Underground at night.

Taxis
Taxis in Milan are white and park in ranks supplied with a telephone (the numbers can be found in the telephone directory under Taxi). Taxis can also be called via radiotaxi switchboards on the following numbers: 026767; 028383; 025353; 023100. Because of the frequent changes made to the tariffs, you should read carefully the information shown inside the taxi.
