Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the International Advisory Board of the International Heart Health Society, we have the pleasure of inviting health care professionals, population science researchers, health policy makers, health care authorities and organizations to attend The 5 th International Heart Health Conference in Milan, Italy, from June 13 th to 16 th 2004.
These three and half days are organized in partnership with leading organizations such as The World Health Organization, The World Heart Federation, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the special support of Health Canada, the Fondazione Internazionale di Ricerca per il Cuore Onlus and the "Vita-Salute" San Raffaele University.
This very important event gathers every three years in a different part of the world where all the major worldwide experts in the field of heart health promotion, discuss crucial aspects in the global effort to counteract the rising tide of cardiovascular disease.
Every conference is mainly focussed on specific aspects of the fight against cardiovascular disesase and The 5 th IHH Conference will target all the technology related aspects: from information- to behavioural- to bio-technology.
The Executive Committee of the IHH has decided to name the 5 th IHH Conference "Positioning Technology to Serve Global Heart Health" to emphasize the efforts at discussing and understanding the appropriateness and cost/effectiveness of several technologies in different settings.
The 5 th IHH Conference will produce the “Milan Declaration on Heart Health” to follow the previous declarations: Victoria, Catalonia, Singapore and Osaka, to form a keystone set of documents for supporting heart health promotion initiatives at both political and technical levels.
